Listen Learn Act, in partnership with the Earth and Spirit Center, will host a Community Conversation with Phil Lloyd-Sidle, who recently visited Israel and Palestine. “Our pilgrimage [was] not about picking sides,” he says. “It was about standing up for life in the face of eradicating life.” On his return, he’s felt an urgent need to let others know what he saw there, saying, “We must open our hearts to overcome our indifference.”
As people committed to equity and compassion in action, we’ll take this opportunity to better understand the situation and the parallels between injustice in Gaza and the US. We’ll consider what is the correct response to such suffering. A retired Presbyterian minister and current teacher in the Louisville Vipassana Community, Phil will share his story and his perspective on peace with justice.
Refreshments will be served.
